Dr TAHIROU, I am an epidemiologist and veterinarian by training at the Ecole Inter État de Sciences et de Médecine Vétérinaire (EISMV) de Dakar (Sénégal). Rabies is a fatal zoonotic disease and remains endemic particularly in Africa and Asia. It constitutes a danger to public health, particularly for children, in whom the incidence is very high. Indeed, the appearance of cases of rabies constitutes a weakness in the health system. Therefore, good knowledge (awareness), public awareness of the danger linked to this zoonosis, an adequate national and sub-regional program... will make it easier to carry out the fight against rabies in our countries in a coherent manner.
